  • ECN recently hosted its annual Channel Awards evening in January at the Johannesburg Country Club in Woodmead. This black tie event is one of ECN’s most prestigious events on the calendar and is attended by invited partners, ECN management and staff.

  • Andrew Openshaw – (Managing Director )

    Andrew Openshaw – (Managing Director )

    After completing his pharmacy degree at Rhodes, Andy concluded his pharmacy internship at Glaxo Pharmaceuticals (Glaxo). He subsequently became a production pharmacist, sales representative and a manager in both sales and marketing at Glaxo.

  • Jeremy MacDonald – (Executive Director, Business Enablement)

    Jeremy MacDonald – (Executive Director, Business Enablement)

    After working for Union Bank of Switzerland in London in 2003 and 2004 as a senior consultant, Jeremy joined Phumelela as an operations analyst. He was part of a small team responsible for launching an international television station and supporting data networks. Jeremy joined ECN in 2005.

  • Pieter Kruger – (Financial Manager)

    Pieter Kruger – (Financial Manager)

    He joined Saicom in 2001 as the group financial manager. At Saicom, he was primarily involved in the management of the finance and logistics departments, the enforcement of compliance with statutory requirements and was intimately involved in strategic planning. Pieter joined ECN in February 2008.

    Yemi Oni – (Executive Manager, Voice Services)

    After completing his BSc honours in computer science, he then moved on to finish his MSC in telecommunications at Wits University where his research provided application service providers with the ability to easily create applications through a generic API based layer implemented on a NGN gateway.

  • Mohamed Rangila- (Executive Manager of Infrastructure)

    Mohamed Rangila- (Executive Manager of Infrastructure)

    After completing his National Diploma in Information Technology, Mohamed moved to Johannesburg and began working as a .Net developer specializing in custom report building using reporting tools. As one of the first employees of ECN in 1995, he began his career at ECN as a Junior Java Developer and quickly progressed to Asterisk engineering and became a specialist in GSM routing and voice quality control across GSM networks.

  • Mike Britz – (Chief Operations Officer)

    Mike Britz – (Chief Operations Officer)

    Mike is responsible for service delivery and network performance and has extensive experience in operatons and project management. Mike began his career as a microwave engineer in Telkom and then moved into supporting technical and information systems within the medical sector.

  • Brynn Andrew – (Chief Technology Officer)

    Brynn Andrew – (Chief Technology Officer)

    After graduating from Wits, Brynn joined Internet Solutions as a software developer specializing in Internet based technologies. He later moved into network engineering focusing on security, routers and QoS based solutions.
