Founded in 2004, ECN is licensed to provide VANS including the carrying of voice in terms of the provisions of section 40 of the Telecomm unications Act 103 of 1996. ECN is headquartered in Johannesburg and owns 4 carrier grade switches located at points of presence in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town. ECN’s strategy is to lease transmission capacity and focus capital investment on the development of compelling value added services. ECN has developed its own suite of intelligent network, telephone management, IP/Centrix and call center solutions. Against a backdrop of increasing deregulation, ECN has been very successful in acquiring customers and growing revenue rapidly. ECN is a major player in the delivery of affordable and accessible converged voice and data solutions that are at the forefront of the next generation or 21st century telecoms network.
